Tegallalang villagers are well-known for their "Gerebeg" ritual, it is a ceremony conducted every 6 months according to balinese calendar to guard the village from evil traits and bad luck. In this ritual, young folks and children paint their faces or bodies. They will march across the village as a symbol to woo away the wicked spirits.
